Tibor Mirtič has entered the transfer portal at the buzzer.
According to a report by Sam Kayser on Monday morning, the Penn State men’s basketball forward is entering the portal just one day before it closes. Mirtič played sparingly during his lone season at Penn State, averaging 3.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists across 14.1 minutes per game. He appeared in 15 contests as a true freshman.
The Slovenian becomes the eighth Nittany Lion to depart via the portal, joining Kayden Mingo, Freddie Dilione V, Eli Rice, Dom Stewart, Mason Blackwood, Melih Tunca and Justin Houser. Penn State also lost Josh Reed to graduation and lost its only class of 2026 commitment, Jamison White, earlier this week.
To backfill, the Nittany Lions have brought in four veteran transfers and added two European commitments, though they’ll need more bodies heading into next season with just 10 roster spots currently filled for the 2026-27 campaign.
