Penn State’s athletic department will soon be increasing the price of tickets and a variety of other items as part of the creation of a “Legacy Fund” initiative, which was announced on Friday. This fund was created as a means of “allowing Penn State to financially support the academic pursuits of more student-athletes for all 31 sports,” the university said in a press release.

Nominal increases are included but not limited to season and single-game tickets for all ticketed sports, season and single-game football parking, concessions, novelties and purchases at the Blue and White Golf Courses, per the release. Season prices will, however, stay flat at $433 or $61.85 per game for 2025 and 2026, according to a Legacy Fund FAQ.

Those who hold football season tickets will see a $20 contribution applied to each season seat for the regular season. For football season parking, these account holders will see a $45 fee applied to each season parking pass. These contributions, for football specifically, will be added during the renewal period for season tickets in February.

The increase in ticket prices, among other items, comes ahead of a pivotal House settlement that is expected to remove scholarship limits currently in place by the NCAA. There will soon, instead, be roster limits implemented, cutting football rosters to 105 scholarship players, elevating the necessity for athletic departments to fund scholarships for their athletes.

The Legacy Fund is not a player talent fee, introduced by Tennessee as a surcharge that would go into the revenue-sharing pool for athletes. Penn State’s initiative strictly revolves around providing resources for an increased amount of scholarships.
