Penn State men’s basketball’s star point guard has earned some preseason recognition. Ace Baldwin Jr. was one of 10 players named to the preseason All-Big Ten team. His selection comes after winning the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Year award in his first year with the Nittany Lions.
Baldwin is once again set to lead Penn State as it enters the second year under head coach Mike Rhoades.
Baldwin averaged 14.2 points and six assists per game last season. His average of 2.7 steals per game was the most by a Big Ten player in a single season in 31 years.
The Nittany Lions will open their season against Binghamton on Nov. 4. Their conference slate will begin at home against Purdue on Dec. 5. The Boilermakers are led by Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year, Braden Smith.
