Good things tend to come in pairs, which was absolutely true for Penn State football’s recruiting efforts on Friday.

Three-star Maryland wide receiver Lavar Keys announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions’ 2026 recruiting class. His decision came just hours after the program added a pledge from 2027 McKeesport running back Kemon Spell.

Keys joins three-star Jahsiear Rogers from Delaware as the second wide receiver to commit to Penn State’s 2026 class.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Keys hails from Maryland’s DeMatha Catholic — the same high school current Nittany Lions KJ Winston and Coziah Izzard attended.

Keys was named after Penn State great LaVar Arrington, he told Brian Dohn of 247Sports. Now, Keys will join Arrington’s son, linebacker Lavar Arrington Jr., who is committed to Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class, as a teammate in 2026.
