Penn State football added to both sides of the ball on Friday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions landed commitments from three-star defensive lineman Aniti Paiva and three-star tight end Sean Currie within an hour of each other, adding to their 2027 recruiting class.
Paiva ranks as the No. 12 Utah native, No. 112 defensive lineman and No. 1,017 overall prospect in the class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He became the third recruiting victory for defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe, who has strong ties to the West Coast.
Standing at 6-foot-2, 315 pounds, Paiva played nose tackle at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, but he recently transferred to Skyline High School near Salt Lake City, where he has one season left before joining Penn State. He received offers from regional schools like Arizona, Colorado, Boise State, Oregon State and Washington State and scheduled two official visits, with the Nittany Lions and Wildcats.
Currie, who committed while live on the Rivals YouTube channel, ranks as the No. 15 New Jersey prospect, No. 32 tight end and No. 560 overall recruit in the class, according to the 247 composite. He plays both tight end and defensive end for The Lawrenceville School, while also playing lacrosse in the spring.
He ranks as the No. 28 overall recruit in the class by Inside Lacrosse and was previously committed to Virginia. In fall 2025, Currie hauled in 34 passes for 474 yards and eight touchdowns, earning more interest as a football recruit before backing off his pledge to the Cavaliers. He held an impressive offer list, including Ohio State, Texas A&M, Washington, Florida State and others.
With the new additions, Penn State’s class holds 20 commitments and sits No. 7 nationally and second in the Big Ten, trailing only UCLA, per the 247Sports composite.
