Christmas came early for Penn State, which added a key transfer on Tuesday. Former Troy wide receiver Devonte Ross has committed to the Nittany Lions, he announced on Instagram.

The 5-foot-11, 161-pound Ross caught 76 receptions for 1,043 yards and 11 touchdowns this season en route to a first-team All-Sun Belt selection. He was also named to the second team as a return specialist.

Ross, who has appeared in 39 games across three seasons, will have one year of eligibility remaining.

He joins former USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson as Penn State’s second pass-catching addition this cycle, and ex-Texas A&M defensive end Enai White as the team’s third overall transfer.

Ross and Hudson will look to lead a wide receiving corps that has lacked consistent star power over the past two seasons. They are set to round out a group that will likely include returning starters Harrison Wallace III and Liam Clifford.
