The Nittany Lions are staying hot on the recruiting trail.
Penn State added a commitment from Iowa State transfer running back Carson Hansen on Sunday evening, continuing a string of commitments both from portal players and high school recruits over the weekend.
Hansen was the leading rusher for the Cyclones in each of the last two seasons. In 2025, he totaled 952 yards and six rushing touchdowns on 188 carries, adding 19 receptions for 134 yards, giving him the sixth-most rushing yards in the Big 12.
The former three-star recruit has one season of eligibility remaining and will use it in Happy Valley, where he reunites with Campbell and offensive coordinator Taylor Mouser. He’s expected to compete for the starting role with returning running back Quinton Martin Jr., who surpassed 100 yards in the Pinstripe Bowl against Clemson to close out the year.
Hansen joins a growing list of Cyclone players heading to Penn State, including quarterback Rocco Becht, wide receiver Brett Eskildsen, tight end Gabe Burkle and others.
