Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Add Quarterback to 2026 Class

After a busy weekend for Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class, the Nittany Lions picked up their second verbal commitment for the class of 2026 as four-star quarterback Troy Huhn announced his decision on Tuesday. Huhn chose Penn State over several other schools, including Big Ten rivals Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Huhn, from Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, California, is ranked the No. 10 quarterback and the No. 13 overall player in his state, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. Hitting the scales at 6-foot-4 and 205-pounds, Huhn joins four-star Harrisburg athlete Messiah Mickens as the second player to join Penn State’s recruiting class of 2026. According to the 247Sports Network, Penn State’s two-man class is ranked sixth-best in the nation, a somewhat meaningless accolade so very early in the process.

The commitment is the latest in an avalanche of recruiting news since Friday. In total, Penn State has seen two players flip their verbal commitments away from the program while five players, including Huhn, have verbally committed since Friday. Prior to Huhn, it was linebacker Max Granville who was the most recent commitment, making his announcement on Monday night.
