Penn State’s annual Homecoming Parade took to the streets of State College Friday night as floats made their way from East Halls, through campus, down College Avenue, and up to the Lion Shrine in a route filled with music and celebration.
As always, Onward State’s photographers were along the parade route to capture all the moments.
The parade got started near East Halls, with ROTC and first responders leading the way.
Shortly after was Martha King, this year’s grand marshal.
This year’s parade featured some impressive floats.
Besides the floats, there were also some tricked-out Penn State-themed vehicles.
All smiles for Penn State Homecoming.
Greek life organizations and clubs alike paraded down the route.
The parade eventually made its way down College Avenue as the sun began to set (behind the clouds).
CATA buses came in various sizes and vintages
From the Nittany Lion to the Bernese Mountain Dog club, there were many furry friends.
And for the grand finale: The Penn State Blue Band.
Penn State Homecoming culminates with the No. 9 Nittany Lion football team’s game against No. 19 Illinois at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
