Penn State Athletics Posts Historic 4-Year Fundraising Numbers

The money is continuing to pile in for Penn State Athletics.

The department on Thursday afternoon revealed some philanthropic details following the conclusion of the 2025-26 fiscal year. Most notably, the program has raised a total of $353.1 million in commitments across the last four years, nearly doubling the previous four-year period which saw $181.8 million raised.

“This isn’t simply a fundraising milestone,” athletic director Pat Kraft said. “It’s a reflection of what makes Penn State different. Every gift represents someone who believes in our student-athletes, our coaches, our people and our future. Together, our supporters have created the momentum that allows Penn State not only to compete at the highest level today, but to build one of the strongest and most sustainable athletics programs in the country for decades to come.”

While specific details from the 2025-26 year weren’t disclosed, a release stated eight of the 12 largest gifts in school history came in the last four years, including four of the five largest. The Beaver Stadium renovation has garnered multiple seven- and eight-figure gifts, according to previously announced information, led by a $25 million donation from the Misitano Family and PAM Health in 2024.

Additionally, Penn State’s three highest single-year fundraising totals came in the last four years.

Also noted in the release, the university has raked in “record ticket revenue” and increased sponsorship revenue by 66% since 2022, reflecting a larger financial push in recent seasons following the implementation of NIL.

Without giving specific details, the release described Penn State as having “one of the strongest financial foundations in college athletics.” Its most recent financial report to the NCAA, covering the 2024-25 fiscal year, showed $254.9 million in revenues against $254.6 million in expenses, with football posting a net surplus of $57.6 million.
