Penn State Football: Michigan Game Reportedly Set for Noon Kick

Penn State will reportedly host Michigan this season at noon as part of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff according to a report by the Action Network’s Brett McMurphy. The clash will mark the second-straight season the Nittany Lions have hosted their presumed marquee home game of the year at noon. Penn State hosted Ohio State last season at noon falling 44-31 despite a late fourth quarter lead.

The Wolverines are set to visit State College on Nov. 11 this year with Penn State is looking to avenge a 41-17 beatdown by Michigan last season in Ann Arbor. Broadly Penn State is also looking to bounce-back in the series having not beaten Michigan since 2020 but having technically won three of the last six meetings against the defending Big Ten Champions.

As for the kick itself, Penn State’s meetings with WVU, Iowa and at Michigan State are all slated for kicks at 7:30 or later. While no official rule is publicly stated, it appeared increasingly likely that the Wolverines would visit Beaver Stadium for a kick time prior to 7:30. Thursday’s reported news confirms that general assumption.

Still somewhat early in the offseason only four kickoff times and television designations have been announced for Penn State’s upcoming 2023-24 season with the game against Michigan the only so far to fall on FOX. Penn State will face WVU and Michigan State on NBC while Iowa will travel to Beaver Stadium to face the Nittany Lions on CBS.
