Penn State Football: Tight End Commits To 2025 Recruiting Class

Penn State football added to its 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday evening following the verbal commitment of tight end Matt Henderson. He marks the only unrated prospect in the Nittany Lions’ 13 man haul, although that is expected to change soon.

If fans were looking for some reassurance relative to his unranked profile, Henderson’s rising stock is reflected in no small part by his offer list which included Michigan State, Pitt, Maryland, Syracuse, and others. Beyond the evaluation and on the scales, Henderson comes in at 6-foot-5 and 210-pounds hailing from Powhatan, Virginia. He joins fellow tight end and four-star four-star prospect Brady O’Hara as the second tight end to join the class. According to MaxPreps, Henderson caught 74 passes for 1,114 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.

So far Penn State’s recruiting class, which is ranked No. 9 in the nation by the 247 Network, is headlined by four-star linebacker DJ McClary and four-star running back Alvin Henderson. The more recently committed Henderson played both receiver and tight end while in high school but appears poised to fill out the Nittany Lions’ future tight end room. Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class was headlined by five-star tight end Luke Reynolds as he looks to grow behind longtime contributor Tyler Warren this upcoming season.
