With the primary election now two months away, candidates are set for Centre Region township positions and what will be a crowded field for State College Area School Board.
March 9 was the deadline to file nomination petitions and Tuesday was the last day to file challenges to petitions. Candidates cast lots for ballot positions on Wednesday.
Primary Election Day is May 18. Candidates have until March 24 to withdraw from the ballot.
State College Area School Board
For State College Area School Board of Directors, two incumbents and six challengers are cross-filed on Democratic and Republican ballots as they look to win one of four positions up for election this year. Incumbents Jim Leous, who is running for mayor of State College, and Lori Bedell are not seeking re-election this year.
Directors are elected to four-year terms on the nine-member school board
