Free Food and Milk Distribution Set for Wednesday in State College

A free food and milk distribution open to all community members will take place Wednesday afternoon in downtown State College.

YMCA of Centre County’s Anti-Hunger Program, its Student Anti-Hunger Group and State College Borough are partnering for the walk-through event from 4-6 p.m. on Locust Lane between East College Avenue and East Beaver Avenue.

According to the American Dairy Association North East, which works with Pennsylvania dairy farmers to support the Farmers to Families food distributions, boxes containing a gallon of milk along with an assortment of dairy, produce, and meat will be made available while supplies last.

The Student Anti-Hunger group will provide fruit smoothies, snow cones and popcorn, in addition to the food distribution, according to the YMCA of Centre County. Milk will be provided courtesy of Undeniably Dairy.

Information about the Y’s Anti-Hunger Program will be available. Sue Paterno, who has been an advocate for fighting food insecurity among Penn State students, is expected to be on hand to talk with attendees.
