Deanna Kathleen (Ingram Packer) Hughes, affectionately known as “Kathy,” of Boalsburg went home to see Jesus on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, after a journey with Alzheimer’s disease, at Wynwood House in Boalsburg. Born September 29, 1946, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Homer James and Margaret Caskey Ingram Sr. On June 3, 2007, in State College, Kathy married “her Jack,” William Jack Hughes of Boalsburg, who survives.

Kathy is survived by her husband’s four children, Amy Beth Frigo (Marc) of Nashville, TN; Cynthia Sue Hughes Smithers (Robert) of Cranberry, NJ; Lisa Lynn Madeira (Michael) of Bellefonte, PA; Shannon Marie Janicki of Hudson, WI.

Also surviving are her siblings, Frances Smead (Randall) of Bellefonte, PA and Gary Ingram of Lock Haven, PA. She was preceded in death by James Ingram (Noirko) of San Diego, CA.

Also surviving are Kathy’s 2 nieces and 3 nephews and 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Justin Ingram of Woolrich, PA was her godson.

Kathy was a 1964 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She was employed with various employers throughout her working career, but she frequently highlighted her work with the State College Area School District as a bus driver for special need students.

Kathy was a member of the State College Assembly of God church. After Kathy came to know Jesus, she loved “to pray for and with others” and continued to do so until God called her home. She knew the importance of bringing people to know Jesus and shared her faith freely. Kathy will be missed by friends and family, but is now at peace in the arms of her Savior and we rejoice in the promise of eternal life.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM with Pastor Paul Waldecker officiating. Private burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
