Gerald T. Coulter, 73, of State College, formerly of Spring Mills, died Sunday, August 24, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family and the love of his life.
Born November 26, 1951, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late H. Theodore and Frances E. Fohringer Coulter. His brother, Theodore L. “Ted” Coulter also preceded him in death in 2018.
He is survived by his partner, Mary L. Reeder of State College.
Gerald graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1969. He was in the Army Reserves with an honorable discharge in 1976. He got his degree in computer science and worked in the computer center (ASI) at Penn State University, where he retired in 2003. He was also dedicated to working with his father on their family farm.
Gerald was a very kind and generous man with a love of cars, especially his 1959 Corvette that he worked on restoring for many years. Gerald’s sense of humor was enjoyed by everyone he met; he loved putting a smile on anyone’s face. He loved the outdoors, animals, nature and life itself. But what was most important to him was his love for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Saviour.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Care Center at Mount Nittany Health Center in State College, at mountnittany.org/give or to Advantage Hospice in Altoona at feeltheadvantage.com/charitable-foundation.
