John W. Hazzard, Jr, 63, of Howard, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Born on January 15, 1959, in Tyrone, he was the son of the late John W. Hazzard, Sr and the late Maude B. (Harpster) Hazzard. On May 5, 1990, at the Jacksonville United Church of Christ, he married Beverly J. Bartley, who survives at home.
John was a 1976 graduate of Tyrone High School. He worked at Penn State University in the Office of Physical Plant, retiring in 2011 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the New Beginnings Church in State College.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his camp, The Sleepy Hollow Camp, Grange Fair, watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football, and life in general. He assisted at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home for many years. He liked to sing, especially in church. He got a lot of pleasure from drinking a “good” cup of coffee and spending time with his fur buddies.
John is survived by his wife, Beverly, two sisters: Donna L. Reeder and her husband, Dave, of Tyrone and Gracie E. Caslow and her husband, Dave, of Osceola Mills, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
