Joseph Rae Sinclair, 82, of Snow Shoe, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his son and his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, while surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 4, 1942, in Clarence, he was the son of the late Kenneth David and Faye (Goodyear) Sinclair. 53 years ago, on July 27, 1971, at The United Methodist Church in Snow Shoe, he married the love of his life, Barbara (Neff) Rash, who survives.
Joe graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1961. He enlisted with the United States Army Reserves in 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1970. In 1971, he joined the Operating Engineers Local 66 Union and started furthering his education as a heavy equipment operator, a career that he loved even beyond his retirement.
Joe was a member of the United Methodist Church in Snow Shoe. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors, especially if it involved maintaining, or meticulously his lawn mowers and personal vehicles. He took extreme pride in how spotless and well cared for his vehicles were. He loved children and spending time with them, teaching them all he knew.
Along with his wife, Joe is survived by his step sons, Ronald Rash and his wife, Kimberly, of Mill Hall and Richard Rash of Snow Shoe; six grandchildren, David Rash, Ryan Rash, Leighann Toner, Holly Rash, Kelly Rash, and Jason Rash; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a niece and nephew.
Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joseph R. “Jody” Sinclair, II and his brother, Kenneth D. “David” Sinclair.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 6pm – 8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Show. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors accorded at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Township following the service.
