Larry T. Moore, 72, of Pine Glen, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on July 26, 1948, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late George A. and Isabel (Gaines) Moore. On March 8, 1969, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lanse, he married the love of his life, Janet C. Girardi. Janet passed away on May 22, 2021.

Larry is a 1966 graduate of West Branch High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 15, 1968, earned the rank of SP5, and received his honorable discharge on October 10, 1969. He then entered the Army Reserves and received his honorable discharge on April 14, 1974. He was very proud of his military service. He retired as a Lieutenant at the Quehanna Boot Camp in Quehanna after 20+ years of service.

Larry enjoyed going to camp, hunting, and fishing. He truly loved being in the outdoors. He was a proud father but even a prouder grandfather and great grandfather. He was the happiest when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry was a member of the Shephard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Karthaus and the Philipsburg Masonic Lodge 52 where he was active in the Shriners for Children.

Larry is survived by: one daughter, Lori L. Storms and her husband, Larry Workman, of Pine Glen; two sons, Larry J. Moore and his significant other, Tonia Torquato, of Pine Glen and Shawn G. Moore and his wife, Amanda, of Drifting; 11 grandchildren, Shaylin Etters, Maryn Moore, Karinn Moore, Emily Moore, Elizabeth Moore, Kyle Moore, Brianna Storms, Walker Workman, Camryn Eby, Benjamin Eby, and Elizabeth Eby; and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his six sibblings: Margaret German of Pine Glen, Shirley Askey of Grassflat, Lois Moore of Grassflat, Jim Moore and his wife, Peggy, of Houtzdale, Ross Moore and his wife, Myong “Linda”, of South Korea and George Moore and his wife, Nancy, of Cherry Tree and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald Gaines and Ronnie Moore and two sisters: Nancy Moore and Ruth Moore.

A celebration of life service will be held at a late date and will be announced.

Larry will be laid to rest with his wife, Janet, privately at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Karthaus. Military honors will be given to celebrate his service to this country.
