Linda M. Burge, 79, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at her residence.
Linda was born on May 4, 1946, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Samuel C. “Sam” and Betty (Frelin) Croyle.
She was a graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School.
Linda was employed as a cake decorator for several area businesses throughout her working career. Early in her career, she started out with the former Fitzgibbon’s Pastry Shop. She then worked for Bi-Lo and County Market, all formerly located in Philipsburg. Later in her career, she was employed with the Houtzdale Shop ‘n Save and remained with them until her retirement.
Linda was married on September 4, 1964, in Cumberland, Maryland, to S. Eugene “Babe” Burge. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2023.
She is also preceded in death by an infant brother, Tommy; and a brother, Samuel Croyle.
Linda is survived by a daughter, Missy L. Cerny and her husband, Filip, of (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg; two sons, Douglas E. Burge and his wife, Jill, of Osceola Mills and Brian “Ralph” Burge and his wife, Melinda, of Philipsburg; three grandchildren: Brandon Burge (Chyenne), Eric Burge (Tessah) and McKenzie Burge; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Quinn Burge; a sister, Deb Holdren and her husband, Charles Mancino, of Marysville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Croyle, of Sandy Ridge; and numerous other extended family members.
Among her favorite pastimes, Linda was an avid bird watcher and she loved spending time with her Shih Tzu, “Benny.”
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
