Michael A. Wittman, 81, of Centre Hall, entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at home. Born on November 9, 1944, in St. Mary’s, he was the son of the late Edwin A. and Ethel (Woods) Wittman. On August 17, 1968, in St. Mary’s, he married his partner in life, Marcia A. Bradshaw, who survives.

Michael graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1963. He earned his associates degree from Penn State University in electrical engineering. He worked as an electrical engineer for Penn State University until his retirement in 1999, after more than 30 years of service with them.

Michael enjoyed spending time with his friends and attending PSU hockey matches. He had a lifelong passion for riding motorcycles and looked forward to fishing with loved ones. He also enjoyed skiing. Some of his favorite times were spent with family at camp and sharing his knowledge of engineering with his children and their spouses, grandchildren, friends, and anyone that needed assistance. He embodied the title “Mr. Fix It” and tended to be the go-to guy when you needed assistance with just about anything mechanical, electrical, etc. He was a kind and generous man that had empathy for those around him. He will forever be loved, cherished, and missed greatly by those that knew him.

Along with his wife, Michael is survived by 2 daughters, Ann Wittman of Bellefonte and Suzanne McLelland and her husband, Ian, of Bellingham, WA; three grandchildren, Sera Clark, Meri Clark, and Emmett McLelland; one brother, John Elroy Wittman; and numerous nephews and nieces that he held closely to his heart.

Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin “Pike” Wittman and a sister, Barbara Ann Werner.

There will be a gathering of friends and family held this week and for further details, please contact the family or funeral home directly.
