Andrew M. “Pete” Coslo, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at home. Born on May 24, 1927, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Bonchak) Coslo. On June 1, 1950, in Bellefonte, he married Betty J. Coslo who preceded him in death on May 14, 2006.
He was a graduate of the Bellefonte Area High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For his service he received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.
Andrew retired from Cerro in 1993 after 38 years of service.
He was a member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign War Post # 1600, and life member of The Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters; Patricia Wernham and her husband Joseph of Erie, Dorothy Neff of Bellefonte; one son, Michael Coslo and his wife Ardis of State College, and one grandchild, Tristan Coslo. He is also survived by one sister, Anna Mae Swabick of Snow Shoe.
In addition to his wife and parents, Andrew was preceded in death by seven sisters; Catherine Coslo, Mary Jabco, Eva Waite, Sophia Roan, Julia Burger, Rose Boscaino, Alice Evock, and two brothers; Fred and John Coslo.
Friends will be received Monday, July 16, 2012, from 9-10 am, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop St., Bellefonte, PA 16823. The Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:00 am, at the church, with Father Neil R. Dadey officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in Andrew’s memory may be made to Center Crossing Hospice at 2437 Commercial Blvd, Suite 6, State College, PA 16801.
