B. Frank Hoover, 67, of Howard, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born on August 11, 1944, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late John H. and Ellen F. Hudson Hoover. On December 17, 1966, in Huntingdon, he married Vickie S. Stratford, who survives at home.
Frank was a 1963 graduate from Huntingdon Area High School. He was employed as a Field Engineer for Tele Media Corp for many years. After leaving Tele Media, Frank work for as a Field Engineer for Master Communications and then for Guardsmark as a Security Guard.
Frank served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, where he earned the rank of BM3 and was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was of the protestant faith.
Frank was a member the Central Bald Eagle Fish and Game Association and the Milesburg American Legion Post 893. He enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He treasured his time spent with his wife and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, and two sisters; Ann Howe of Albuquerque, NM and Judy Parrott of Rio Rancho, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John, Robert, and Elwood.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11am at the Mount Eagle Sportsman Club, Howard. Military honors will be given by the Milesburg American Legion Post 893 Honor Guard.
