Elizabeth L. “Betty” Ilgen Catherman, 72 of Milesburg passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Betty was born on July 7, 1944 in Bellefonte, the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Louise P. Confer Leathers. On December 31, 2007, she married Robert T. “Bob” Catherman who survives at home. Also surviving are her daughter, Kelly D. (Keith) Robb of Bellefonte and her son, Scott D. (Amy) Ilgen of Spring Mills, her three granddaughters, Jenna E. Robb, Lindsey M. Robb, Payton M. Ilgen and her grandson, Tyler S. Ilgen, and her former daughter-in-law Michelle Ilgen of Spring Mills. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved and to whom she leaves endless lip stick kisses!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred DeHaas.
Betty was of the Protestant Faith. She was head bank teller for Central Counties Bank and was office manager for R.T. Catherman's various businesses. Betty loved to go to camp, bake with her grandchildren, take trips to the Amish greenhouses each spring for flowers, and spend time with her family.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Kerim Oncu and the wonderful staff at DaVita who provided exceptional care to Betty, giving the family almost 5 more years with her. . Funeral Services will be held at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Stephen R. Hickes, officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eagle Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre Co., PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may made to DaVita Dialysis, 500 Science Park Road, Suite 2, State College, PA 16803, in Memory of Elizabeth L. “Betty” Ilgen Catherman.
