Georgetta Burd DeArmitt, 86, of State College, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at her residence, surrounded by her family

Born in Petersburg on November 27, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Nora (Stevens) Burd.

On November 9, 1939, she was married to Harry W. DeArmitt, who survives at home. Georgetta attended the Petersburg Vocational High School. She bowled at the former Centre Lanes with the Tuesday Coffee League. She loved to cook for family and friends and made the best apple pie and cinnamon rolls. She was known by many for her zucchini bread. She enjoyed singing. She even made her own tapes. In earlier years she enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Judy Darlene Miles of Huntingdon, and Donna Carol Bryan and her husband John of Millheim; five grandchildren: Angela Lucas, Billy Jo Williams, John Bryan, Jr., Wes P. Miles, Sr. and Cindy L. Frew, one sister LaVina Mabel Snare of Petersburg, 14 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a special niece Faye Stover.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law; Ernest Miles, three sisters, Edna L. Rinker, Mary Kipe and Margaret E. Catalano; four brothers, Alton Taylor, Jacob and Arthur Croyle and Joe Burd and a grand daughter Laurie A. Bryan.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.

Funeral Services will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, beginning at 2 PM, with the Reverend Donald Dick officiating.

Interment will be at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
