Hubert Allen Burd, 78, of State College, died March 15, 2014, in State College. Born February 14, 1936, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Jessie and Louise Coble Burd.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudette Y. Burd, and is survived by his second wife, Carmella Harter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tina M. (Peter) Scornavacchi and JoEllen (Tim) Boyer; two step-children, Stephen (Mary) Harter and Patty (Craig) Gruneberg; five brothers, Jessie (Lois) Burd, Ronnie (Leah) Burd, Gary (Connie – deceased) Burd, Rick (Karen) Burd, and Tim (Dawn) Burd; three sisters, Connie (Terry) Lindquist, Bonnie (Bill – deceased) Wood and Barbara (Mel) Harter; two grandchildren, Jeremy A. (Marilyn) Boyer and Zachary T. Boyer; three step-grandchildren, Justin Gruneberg, Zachary Gruneberg and Samuel Gruneberg; and one great-grandchild, Zoey Anne Boyer.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Val Bradley officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Meyer Cemetery.
