Iva May Boone, 97 of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her home. She was born in Marsh Creek on January 22, 1916, the daughter of the late Irvin & Mary K. Sweitzer Young.
On December 8, 1937 she married Walter W. Boone who preceded her in death on February 25, 2002.
She was a homemaker and along with her husband ran the family farm. She was a member of Marsh Creek Brethren in Christ Church.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and making quilts. She received many blue ribbons and also "Best of Show" at the Grange Fair which she was quite proud. She also loved to entertain and spend time with her grandchildren.
Iva May is survived by one daughter; Vera J. (Jay Robert) Musser of Centre Hall, two sons; Aaron I. (Janet) Boone of Julian and Ernest L. (Vicki) of Bellefonte, seven grandchildren; Barry & Bryan Musser, Edward "Rusty" Boone, Tiffany Witmer, Spencer and Jodie Boone and Jennifer Hann, and also survived by eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son; Manley Boone, five sisters, and one brother.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses & aides with Hospice, and caretakers; Cheryl Kauffman, Sheila Werner and Jean Shuke for the wonderful care given to their mother and grandmother during her illness.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Howard at 2:00 p.m. with the Pastor's Dan Longmore and Rick WIlson officiating. Family and friends will be received from noon till 2:00 p.m prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery.
