Joseph J. Gongloff, Sr., 85, of Howard, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his home. Born on March 16, 31, 1931, in Nanty-Glo, he was the son of the late Thelma Jenkins. On November 25, 1954, in Nanty-Glo, he married Martha L. Barr, who survives at home.
Joseph was of the protestant faith. He served in the US Army. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Company in Baltimore, retiring after 29 years of service.
Joseph enjoyed playing bingo and watching football. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Along with his wife, Joseph is survived by two sons; Joseph J. Gongloff, Jr of Howard and Philip R. Gongloff and his wife, Cindy, of Milesburg, two daughters; Laura L Belcastro and her husband, David, of Baltimore, MD and Charlotte L. Augustyniak and her husband, Stanley, also of Baltimore, MD.
Also surviving are his five grandchildren; Matthew Belcastro, Lynne Belcastro, Eric Augustyniak, Tina Kight, and Nicole Shawley, and six great grandchildren; Marina, Samantha, Taylor, Matthew, Brayden, and Riley.
Along with his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one daughter in-law, Rena Gongloff.
In accordance with Joseph’s wishes, all services will be private.
