Joyce M. Ammerman, 87, of Milesburg, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Milesburg, October 6, 1926, a daughter of the late Doyle and Gladys McKinley Breon. On June 17, 1945, she married Donald R. Ammerman who survives at home.
Joyce was a 1945 graduate of Bellefonte High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, and was a member of Milesburg Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Brook A. (Barbara) Ammerman, of Hillsgrove and Randy D. Ammerman, of State College. She is also survived by two daughters, Donna Sue Ammerman, of Milesburg and Penny M. (Glenn) Thompson, of Howard. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Karen Ammerman, of Bellefonte; and one brother, Thomas J. Breon, of Bellefonte. Joyce is also survived by six grandchildren, Teri Rosbach, Sean Ammerman, Brandy Ammerman, Parker Thompson, Logan Thompson and Kale Thompson; and seven great grand- children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry R. Ammerman.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 27, 2014, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg, with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 p.m. With Pastor Clyde Mighells of the Lighthouse Reformed Church, Howard, officiating.
