Karen Elaine Aber, 64 of Beech Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Gatehouse @ Divine Providence in Williamsport. She was born on November 26, 1949 in Huntingdon, the daughter of the late Donald & Phylis Bucher Potts. She married Charles “Chuck” Aber on October 27, 1973, he survives at home.

Karen was a graduate of Bald Eagle Nittnay Class of 1967 and Lock Haven Teachers College.

She was a devoted teacher serving at Liberty Curtin Elementary for 35 years retiring in 2008. During her tenure she taught 3 generations of families in the area. She was a member of Beech Creek Wesleyan Church.

Karen enjoyed camping, feeding her squirrels & Hummingbirds. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with he K-9 son Duncan, and K-9 grandson. Connor.

Along with her husband, she is survived by three daughters; Ronda Phillips of Clintondale, Shelly (Rick) Confer of Flemington, and Susanne (Michael) Bressi of Beech Creek, two sons; Charles Aber III (Mary Beth) of Zion and Michael Aber of Beech Creek, four sisters; Jane Burnell, Carol Rhoades, Mary Ruth Bittner, and Donna Henry, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaugher.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the church. There will be an additional visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at the Hays-Fearon Cemetery.
