Lois G. Confer, 85, of Monument, passed away on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 at her home. Born on March 31, 1931, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Florence G. Kitchen Bechdel. On March 31, 1949, in Beech Creek, she married Elmer W. Confer, who passed away on August 17, 2011.
Lois was a member of the Monument Church of Christ. She was a clerk at Raible’s Pharmacy for many years, retiring in 2002. Before Raible’s, she worked at Bestway Truck Stop as a Cook. She also was a private caregiver for many people in the area.
Lois enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She looked forward to spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking large family dinners. She was always available to help anyone in need.
Lois is survived by her children; Donald Confer and his wife, Bonnie, of Monument, Susan Vinup and her husband, Paul, of Monument, Emma Confer and her partner, Woody Lowe, of Elkhart, IN., and Bill Confer of Monument. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and one sister; Mary Lou Evers and her husband, Gerald of Florida.
Along with her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6-8pm and Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 10-11am at the Kader –Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Funeral service will follow on Saturday with Wally Kocher and Terry Sacke officiating. Burial will be at the Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Blanchard.
