Obituary of Marie Bloom , 93

Marie Jordan Tate Rossman Bloom, 93 of State College died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Greenhills Village in State College

Born June 15, 1921 in Shingletown, she was the daughter of the late George and Sadie (Rosenberg) Jordan.

On December 25 1939, Marie married the love of her life, Roy E. Tate Sr. and raised five children with him. He died on March 31, 1976. She then married Donald Rossman who died, January 5, 1983 and Miles Bloom who died, March 14, 2003.

Marie was a 1939 graduate of Boalsburg High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Briarly Manor and Renaissance, both in State College, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College. Marie enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving is one son, Robert E. Tate, Sr. (Ellen), of Bellefonte; two daughters, Juanita M. Tate of State College and Patricia A. Brown of Dauphin; three brothers, Edward of State College, George of Fleming, and David of Milroy; four sisters, Rita of Aurora, OH, Evelyn of State College, Theresa of Atlanta, GA, and Frances of Spring Mills, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her three husbands, Marie was preceded in death by two sons, James A Tate on October 5, 1983 and Roy E. Tate, Jr. on June 23, 2014; four brothers, Leo, Fred, Earl, and Charles; and one sister, Elsie.

Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Friday, October 31, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A Blessing service will follow at the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Bellefonte.
