Mary L. Auman, 78, of Woodward and Salem Hill Haven, Spring Mills, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at HealthSouth Nittany Rehabilation Center, Pleasant Gap. Born Nov. 3, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Harry K. Brindle and Mildred Lamey. On April 28, 1948, she married Clair E. Auman, who died Nov. 12, 1992.

Mary formerly worked at the Millheim Hosiery Mill and the Woodward Inn. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Woodward. She enjoyed working in her yard, cooking and baking for family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. (Thomas) Huey, of Woodward; a son, Steven A. (Bonnie) Auman, of Coburn; a brother, Harry "Jake" (Rosemarie) Brindle, of Aaronsburg; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Vonada.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St., Millheim. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Woodward, with Pastor Cass Harbach officiating. Burial will be in Woodward Cemetery.
