Obituary of Nancy Ashcraft, 77

Nancy Ann Ashcraft, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012. She was born Nancy Ann Robinson on August 8, 1934, in South Fork, PA, the only child of the late Ralph“Sonny”& Virginia (Brummert) Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her daughter,Susan Ashcraft Schindler.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of59 years, Lloyd Clair Ashcraft. She is also survived by her sons, David ClairAshcraft of Bellefonte, Brian John Ashcraft, and his wife, Lisa, also of Bellefonte; nine grandchildren, Sandy Beck, Patricia Wenrick, Michelle Irvin,Melinda Hardy, Jessica Ashcraft, Sara Ashcraft, Kelly Ashcraft, Jennifer Ashcraft, and John Ashcraft; and seven great-grandchildren, Marissa, Clayton,Emma, & Makenna Wenrick, Bailey Irvin, Connor Perry, and Joshua Hardy, Jr.

Nancy was a graduate of South Fork Croyle High School. As a teenager, she worked at the Murphy’s Five-and-Dime. After marrying her truelove, she worked as a homemaker until they began their own businesses, Ashcraft Construction & Ashcraft Rentals, where she was the business manager. After their retirement, both continued working for the family farm, Briarly Acres,where she continued as the business manager.

Nancy loved her family above all else. She and her husband enjoyed dining out, shopping, and playing cards. Nancy had a love for home décor and decorating.

A public visitation will be held Wednesday,March 21, 2012, from 6-8 pm and Thursday, March 22, 2012, from 10-11 am, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA. The funeral service will be held Thursday,March 22, 2012, at the funeral home, at 11:00 am, with Rev. M. Lee Ellenberger officiating.

Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
