Douglas Wayne Mottin, Sr., 65, of Moshannon, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.

Born September 21, 1948 in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Earl and Jean McFarland Mottin. He married Judith Ann Havener, on August 15, 1970 who survives at home.

He is survived by six children, Lisa Stratton and her husband, LTC. Douglas, of North Carolina, Douglas Mottin Jr. and his wife, Heidi, of Philadelphia, Daniel Mottin and his wife, Debbie, of Moshannon, Lynn Carper, of Moshannon, David Mottin and his wife, Kylee, of Snow Shoe, Donald Mottin and his wife, Janice, of State College, three brothers and their wives, a sister and her husband, ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Noelle, Emilee, Chap, Gracie, Fisher, Hunter, Addison, Madilyn, Isabella and one grandbaby on the way to be born in March. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Earl Mottin Jr.

Doug was a 1966 graduate of Blacklick Valley High School. He then went on to graduate from Nyack College in 1971.

He enjoyed his ministry being a pastor for the past 43 years at six CMA churches in Western PA District.

Doug enjoyed spending time with his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a Steelers fan and enjoyed watching every game with his family, including the many superbowl wins. He was always entrenched in projects that kept him working hard.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church , 1221 W. Whitehall Rd. State College with the Reverend Bill Hazlett , Reverend John Smith, Reverend Russell Havener and Reverend Dr. Jeffery Norris officiating.

Burial will be in Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe.
