Surrounded by her family, Phyllis Marie Boob, 83, of Spring Mills, passed away quietly, Sunday, March 23 2014, at Wynwood House in Centre Hall. Born September 14, 1930 in Centre Hall, Phyllis was the daughter of the late George and Frances Fetterolf.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bruce Boob; two sons and their wives; Charles Bobb (Lynnea) of Etters, and Ray Boob (Amy) of Centre Hall; six grandchildren, Ryan Boob (Shannon) of Boalsburg, Nathaniel Bobb (Amy) of Camp Hill, Anthony Boob (Audrey) of Zion, Gillian Bobb (Aaron) of Mechanicsburg, Allison Bobb of Mechanicsburg, and Ashley Jones (Matt) of Altoona. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren; sisters, Miriam Glosser of Harrisburg, Jean McClanahan of Aurora, CO and Linda Murphy (Chuck) of Centre Hall; sister-in-law, Alyce Kolesar of NC, and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceeded in death by a daughter, Mary Ellen; a grandson, Bradley and brothers, Dean Fetterolf, Paul Fetterolf, Glenn Fetterolf, and George Fetterolf, Jr.
Phyllis retired from Gettig Pharmaceutical in Spring Mills. She was a member of the Gregg Township Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed helping at public suppers, banquets and carnivals. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and sitting on her front porch in the summer and visiting with neighbors. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always able to make people laugh.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 29 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Spring Mills beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Price officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests contributions in memory of Phyllis be given to New Hope Lutheran Church, Po Box 96, Spring Mills, Pa 16875 or the Gregg Township Fire Company, Po Box 82, Spring Mills, Pa. 16875.
