Robert W. “Bob” Norbeck, 72, of Pine Glen, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2014 at his home. Born on June 30, 1941, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William C. & Margaret M. Long Norbeck. On January 9, 1982, in Moshannon, he married Sandra E. Fanning, who survives at home.
Bob was a 1959 graduate from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He was of the Catholic faith.

Bob was enlisted in the US Air Force from 1960 until 1963. After his discharge, he worked at Westinghouse Electric in Philadelphia. He later moved to Pine Glen and became a graduate of the 20th Class of the Ross Leffler School of Conservation and served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Wildlife Conservation Officer for 16 years, retiring in January 2004.

Bob served as a Burnside Twp. Supervisor for eight years and was a member of the Mountaintop Regional Water Authority’s Board of Directors. He served on the Centre County’s Natural Gas Task Force and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Bob enjoyed hunting and being in the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to help his family and friends with whatever he could. Bob was a selfless man. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, family and countless friends.

Bob is survived by his wife, children; Maria Norbeck of Virginia Beach, Robert Norbeck and his wife, Jennifer, of Warner Robins, GA, and Erin Norbeck of Pine Glen. Also surviving are his two grandchildren, Taylor and Kelly Norbeck and one brother, John Norbeck of Philadelphia.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 10-10:30am at the Mountaintop Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 675 E. Sycamore Rd, Snow Shoe. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 10:30am at the church with Pastor Douglas Mottin officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Askey Cemetery, Show Shoe Twp.
