Virginia I. Walker, 92, of Marsh Creek, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home. Born on May 24, 1923, in Walker Township, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Sancta A. Showers Gates. On May 25, 1940, in Snydertown, she married Chester A. Walker, who passed away on April 26, 1997.
Virginia attended the Walker Township Schools. She was a member of the Romola Bible Church. In her earlier years, she worked at the Sylvania Electric in Mill Hall and at the Allegheny Creamery in Lock Haven. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
Virginia enjoyed crocheting and working on puzzle books. She looked forward to spending time with her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her two sons; Dale A. Walker and his wife, Theresa, of Jonestown, PA and Lloyd A. Walker and his wife, Dorothy T. Hall, of Milesburg, and her two daughters; Linda I. Pierson and her husband, Robert, and Sherri L. Walker, both of Marsh Creek .
Also surviving are her two sisters, Janet Parson and her husband, Harry, of Pasco, WA and Donna R. White and her companion, Walter Crawford, of Nittany, PA, 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
Along with her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by two sons; Charles and Lawrence, Sr., five brothers; Robert, Miles, Donald, Carl, and Paul, and three sisters; Bertha Heckman, Mary Sampsel, and Blanche Dullen.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Maurer officiating. Burial will follow at the Hublersburg Cemetery.
