Obituary of William Cingle, 75

William D. “Bill” Cingle, 75, of Clarence, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. Born on October 27, 1938, in Clarence, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary A. Koleno Cingle. On June 27, 1964, in Bellefonte, he married Mary L. Emel who survives at home.
Bill was a 1956 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. He was a life member of the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence. Bill was enlisted in the US Army and earned the rank of SP4. He received the Good Conduct Medal for his service.

Bill was the owner of Cingle Brother’s Machine Shop in Clarence. He operated the shop for over 42 years.

Bill was a member of the Clarence American Legion Post 813. He enjoyed all types of sports, especially football and baseball. He loved to watch the Pirates play. His biggest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was supportive in all their activities. He loved his job and he was the best in his field.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, children; Jeffrey D. Cingle and his wife, Laura, of Clarence, Timothy W. Cingle and his wife, Colleen, of Snow Shoe, and Stephanie J. Hall and her husband, Stuart, of Lock Haven, his grandchildren, Seth, Wyatt, Taylor, Merritt, Clayton, Maddie, Julia, Tessa, Georgia, Anna, Charlotte, and Maura. Bill is also survived by his four brothers, Frank of Bellefonte, Andy of Clarence, Edward of Altoona, and Ted of Ohio, and four sisters; Mary Kolasa of State College, Margaret D’Elia of New York, Jane Cresson of New York, and Barbara White of Indiana.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by four brothers; Steve, Mike, Bob, and Dave, and by one sister, Agnes Cingle.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm with a rosary service at 7:45pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, June 3, 2014 at 11am at the Queen of Archangel Roman Catholic Parish Church in Clarence with Father Mark Reid officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarence.
