Polly Anne Bryan Mensch, aged eighty-five, of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, entered the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on March 31st, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. Born on September 3rd, 1940, in Bellefonte Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Mac A. Bryan and Hazel B. Aikey Bryan.
Polly graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 1958 and Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing class of 1961. She worked as a registered nurse for over fifty years, with her last employment being with Mount Nittany Medical Center of State College. She was a member of Bellefonte Presbyterian Church, Girl Scout Leader, Bellefonte Band Booster, and a founder of the Logan Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was very well-read and an incredible seamstress.
Her most privileged position of all was being the wife of Thomas Harter Mensch, Jr. After meeting in the first grade, they started dating at fourteen and were married at twenty-one years old on March 4th, 1962 in Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte, PA.
She was the mother of Heather Bean (Ken), Amy Wagner (Rob), and Tom Mensch (Heather); Nana to Hope Cecere (Andrew), Abagail Thomas (Baily), and Gabrielle Bean; and great grandmother to Micah Harter, Lyla Grace, and Millie Anne. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Sara B. Long and Phyllis B. Rhoads, her only brother Mac A. Bryan, Jr. and firstborn son John Hartman Mensch (10/8/1962-10/9/1962).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bellefonte Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 4th, 2026 at 4:00pm with visitation immediately following until 6:30pm. 201-203 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA 16823. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
