Richard E. “Dick” Knight, 79, of Centre Hall, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 11, 2021. Born on August 8, 1941 in Manheim, he was the son of the late Lloyd E. and Martha E. (Herr) Knight. On July 9, 1994, at the Delta Theta Sigma House in State College, he married Marion E. Tingle, who survives at home.

Dick graduated from Manheim Central High School in 1960. While working with disabled veterans in Manheim, he discovered that he had a passion for upholstery work, especially restoring the upholstery in vehicles. After he moved to Centre Hall from Manheim, he opened his own shop, Dick Knight’s Upholstery, over 20 years ago. He was a member of the Brookside Wesleyan Church in Julian.

Dick loved to fish and was an avid hunter. He went on many hunting trips to Illinois with his friends over the years. He was a member of the AACA Museum in Hershey and enjoyed restoring old cars and motorcycles. He was a man on the go, always busy and doing something. He loved to go out to eat and did not mind driving for a good meal, whether it was Lancaster today and Altoona tomorrow, he was ready and willing. He enjoyed traveling and camping and was a huge Penn State Sports fanatic. He was a caring and loving man that strived to live life to its fullest. If there was ever a time you could not find him, look in the garage, and you would find him.

Along with his wife, Dick is survived by four sons, Scott Knight of Bloomsburg, Michael Rockey and his wife, Denise, of Centre Hall, Tommy Rockey and his wife, Bobbi, of Seward, and Dennis Rockey and his wife, Kathy, of Milesburg; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his twin brother, Robert Knight and his wife, Susan, of Manheim; his sister, Carolyn Peters and her husband, Jim, of Manheim; and his nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his niece, Robin Knight.

Following his wishes, there will be no services for Dick.
