Robert T. Billett, 91, of Milesburg, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2026. Born on April 13, 1934, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John T. and Eleanor (Cryder) Billett. On January 7, 1958, in Wilmington, NC, he married Carolyn M. Webster. Carolyn passed away on November 27, 2019.
Robert was a1953 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp on September 23, 1953. He earned the rank of Sgt and was honorably discharged on September 2. 1956. He received the National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; United Nations Service Medal; and the Good Conduct Medal for his years of service. He was proud of his military service.
When he returned home, Robert went to work for West Penn Power. He had various training throughout his career and retired as a Lineman in 1996.
Robert was a devoted and active member of the Milesburg Baptist Church. His unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the cornerstone of his life. Robert’s personal relationship with the Lord was clearly reflected in his character, his actions, and the way he lived each day.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and sitting around the campfire. He was excellent at woodworking. He created many pieces of furniture for his family and friends. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and even built his home.
Robert is survived two daughters: Donna L. Shaffer of DuBois and Kelly D. Cini and her husband, Dave, of Bellefonte; three grandchildren: Dayna L. Herrold (Eric) of Unionville, Micah J. Shaffer of Philadelphia, and Samuel T. Cini of New York City, NY, and one great grandchild, JaydeL. Herrold. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia I. Billett, one brother, Taylor Billett, one sister, Joan Boyd, and a son in-law, Michael Shaffer.
Following Robert’s wishes, there will be no public services. He will be laid to rest privately beside his wife and daughter at Schenck’s Cemetery in Howard.
