Robert W. Ponish, 64, of Snow Shoe, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at his home. Born on June 19, 1958, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Martha J (Pavelek) Ponish.
Robert was a 1976 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He worked at various jobs but most recently it was at Penn State University, where he was a Media Technician. He retired in 2021 after 18 years of service.
Robert attended the Calvary Church in Boalsburg. His hobbies were many, but his favorites were cooking and BBQ on the grill. He was an excellent welder and could make anything he set his mind to. Currently he was building his own trike. He took an old motorcycle and went from there. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He loved one on one conversations and was a great listener. He was the best dad, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Robert is survived by his son, Jason B. Ponish of State College; daughter, Emily K. Ponish of State College, and two sisters: Kathie Morgan of Snow Shoe and Patricia (Trish) Simcisko and her husband, Matt, of Clarence.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Ponish who passed away on May 14, 2018.
Public viewing will be on Friday, March 10, 2023, from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. A celebration of life will be on March 18, 2023 , from 6-8pm at the Calvary Church, 150 Harvest Fields Dr, Boalsburg, PA. Burial will be private.
