Stanley E. Davis, 77, of Bellefonte, passed away at his home on Friday, April 10, 2026. Born on December 9, 1948, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Thurman C. and Betty A. (Wian) Davis. On August 14, 1971, he married his beloved wife, Paula Rosalie (Shawley) Davis, who preceded him in death on October 9, 2011, after sharing 40 years of marriage together.
Stanley was a 1967 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 1968 until he was honorably discharged in May 1971. During his time in the service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Marksmanship with the M-16. Upon returning home in 1971, he went to work for Corning, retiring as a mold maintenance operator in 2002 after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Davis (Dan Wolfe) of Bellefonte, and Kevin Banks (Shawn) and Chitra Harris, both of which he considered his son and daughter. Also surviving are his siblings, Earl Davis (Carolyn), Alan Davis (Kathy) and Bonnie Davis, all of Bellefonte, and Jenny Holmes (Mark) of Saint Augusta, Minnesota, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Brown, and a brother, Kevin Davis.
Stanley enjoyed taking walks, adding to his owl collection over the years, and attending Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games with his brothers. An animal lover, you could always count on finding his dogs, Honey and Fritz, nearby! More than anything, Stanley loved spending time with his family.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with his brother-in-law, Pastor Mark Holmes, officiating. Burial services with full military honors will immediately follow at Meyer Cemetery in Bellefonte.
