Three-star offensive tackle Maleek McNeil verbally committed to Penn State football’s class of 2022 Saturday afternoon. He announced his decision via Twitter.
“Last but not least, PENN STATE, Coach Franklin, Coach Trautwein, and the whole staff THANK YOU!!!,” Mcneil wrote. “Long time coming and I can’t wait to get to work, be a part of this amazing program, and COMPETE with you!!!”
McNeil hails from Easthampton, Massachusetts and plays his high school ball at The Williston Northhampton School. He’s also received offers from Boston College, Rutgers, and Pitt, among several other programs.
The massive 6’8″, 340-pound tackle is now the second offensive lineman to join the Nittany Lions’ class of 2022. He joins IMG Academy tackle Drew Shelton, who’s ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 130 player in the nation. The Nittany Lions currently have the No. 9 2022 recruiting class in the nation, according to 247Sports, and boast other high-profile commits such as Kaden Saunders and Drew Allar.
