Pittsburgh 4-Star DE Commits to Penn State Football

Penn State football picked up its second commitment of the day for the 2022 recruiting class with a pledge from Pittsburgh four-star defensive end Tyreese Fearbry.

He is the Nittany Lions’ fourth commitment in the past three days, joining Orlando four-star defensive lineman Zane Durant as Sunday’s pledges, offensive lineman JB Nelson, who committed on Friday, and linebacker Keon Wylie, who announced his decision on Saturday

Fearbry, who plays at Perry Traditional Academy in Pittsburgh, selected Penn State over Pitt, Auburn and Kentucky, among others. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect is pegged as an edge rusher by 247Sports, but his Instagram bio says he can play wide receiver, tight end, and basketball as well.

He totaled 29 tackles and five sacks in just five games during his junior campaign, according to MaxPreps.

Fearbry is the No. 8 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 12 edge rusher in the country, according to 247Sports. He is the ninth four-star recruit to join Penn State’s 2022 class, which 247 rates as No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the Big Ten.
