Police Say Owner of Vehicle Sought After Armed Robbery Has Been Identified

no description

Update: State College police have identified the owner of the vehicle, according to a Tweet from the department on Tuesday, but have not yet released any further information.

Original story:

State College police are asking for the public’s help identifying the owner or driver of a vehicle that is potentially linked to an armed robbery on Sunday afternoon.

The pictured vehicle was seen in the area of the robbery at the Fullington bus station, 152 N. Atherton St.

Police said on Sunday that at about 2:50 p.m. a man entered the office area of the bus station and struck the clerk with a pistol, knocking him to the floor. The suspect then stole cash from a register and fled through the bus station, exiting through the south side door.

The surrounding area was searched for several hours after the robbery and police said “there is no evidence to believe the suspect is still in the area.”

The suspect was described as a 6-foot to 6-foot-1 Black male in his 30s or 40s weighing approximately 240 pounds. He had a salt-and-pepper beard that was mainly covered with a black disposable mask, according to police.

He was last seen wearing black pants and a black hoodie with white lettering with the hood up and zipped to his chin.

The clerk was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to to contact the State College Police Department at (814) 234-7150, by email or by submitting an anonymous tip online.
