Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, Sheetz convenience stores have cut the price of some gas below $4 per gallon.
The Altoona-based company has reduced Unleaded 88 to $3.99 a gallon and E85 to $3.49 a gallon for a limited time through the July 4th holiday travel season at all of its stores, according to a news release.
Unleaded 88 is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency for use in vehicles for model years 2001 or newer, as well as light-duty trucks, SUVs and flex fuel vehicles. E85 is designed only for “flexible fuel vehicles.”
Rutter’s, meanwhile, is offering the same prices at its Bellefonte location, 731 Rishel Hill Road.
Regular unleaded prices at Centre County Sheetz locations and the Bellefonte Rutter’s remain unchanged at $4.89.
The national average for regular unleaded gas is $4.89 a gallon and $4.16 for E85, according to AAA. In Pennsylvania and Centre County, the average is $4.95 for regular unleaded.
