Rapper Lil Yachty will perform at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on Sept. 6, the venue announced Wednesday.
Tickets for the show, which will feature special guests NLE Choppa, J.I the Prince of N.Y and Chow Lee, go on sale to the general public at noon on Friday, May 3. A discounted Penn State student ticket presale starts at noon on Thursday, May 2.
The former SoundCloud rapper released his first song, “Sad (Happy Remix),” in 2013, then rose to fame following the success of his 2016 mixtape, “Lil Boat.” The Atlanta rapper was part of a new wave of young artists changing the game at the time. His “bubblegum trap” approach made him a favorite among young fans and his debut “Teenage Emotions” made it to No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
Best known for his hits “Broccoli,” “iSpy,” “1 Night,” “Ice Tray,” and “Oprah’s Bank Account,” Yachty has continued to grow as an artist and songwriter throughout the years, collaborating with artists like Drake, D.R.A.M., KYLE and DaBaby, to name a few.
Most recently, Yachty released his last album “Let’s Start Here” in 2023, followed by several singles released in 2024 such as “Stayinit,” “Fallout,” “A Cold Sunday,” and “POINT ME TO IT.”
NLE Choppa is known for hit songs like “SLUT ME OUT,” “PISTON PACCIN,” and “Camelot.” The Memphis native has two studio albums, “Top Shotta” and “Cottonwood 2.”
J.I the Prince of N.Y broke onto the rap scene in 2019 with his hit single, “Need Me.” Since then, he has released three mixtapes. Chow Lee is a New York native with just under 400,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. His top songs include “swag it!” and “JHOLIDAY.”
Yachty joins Billy Strings, Kacey Musgraves, Jelly Roll, Cody Johnson and Zach Williams on the list of upcoming headliners at the BJC.
