The Student Book Store, The Corner Room, and Rival Gear Sportswear are teaming up for “All American Friday” this Friday, October 2 to celebrate nationalism all while raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The event will be held in front of the Student Bookstore from 1 to 8 p.m., and is being held in conjunction with downtown State College’s monthly “First Friday” event.
The event, described as “a celebration of all things America,” will include a day-long celebration with hot dogs, apple pie, lemonade, rock climbing, face painting, music, a Penn State photo booth, entertainment, t-shirts, raffles, a Coney Island-style hot dog eating contest, and much more. All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Joe Shulman (owner of The Corner Room) and John Lindo (Student Book Store) are proud to sponsor this event. “We want the entire State College region to come together, celebrate America, and raise money for Wounded Warrior Project. This is a unique opportunity for the community to rally in support of a most deserving charity,” they explained.
The event is perfectly timed, taking place the day before Penn State Football kicks off against Army West Point on Saturday. Stop by and celebrate all things red, white, and blue all while benefiting a good cause. Items for raffle as well as any questions can be submitted here.
